Shelly BLU Motion ZB (the Device) is a compact, battery-powered motion sensor designed to bring smart automation to any space without wiring or drilling. It detects movement and ambient brightness in one device, making it ideal for automating lights, scenes, and notifications based on real activity and actual room conditions.

With dual wireless connectivity, BLU Motion ZB combines flexible Zigbee-based smart home integration with low-energy Bluetooth capabilities for advanced presence and automation scenarios. Adjustable motion sensitivity and configurable light thresholds help you fine-tune when and how your automations trigger, while the long-life CR2477 battery keeps it running reliably for extended periods.

Use cases

• Install BLU Motion ZB in a hallway to automatically switch on lights only when someone passes by and the lux sensor reports low ambient light. This reduces energy usage by avoiding unnecessary lighting during the day while ensuring safe, hands-free navigation at night.
• Place the sensor in a living room and combine motion detection with the adjustable twilight level to trigger cozy evening scenes. Lights, blinds, or other Zigbee-connected devices can respond only when the room is both occupied and naturally dim, keeping the environment comfortable and efficient.
• Use BLU Motion ZB in a home office to turn lights and related equipment on when motion is detected and sufficient brightness isn’t already present. When no motion is registered for a set period, your Zigbee automation can switch everything off, helping to cut standby consumption.

  • Press 4 times quickly to put Shelly BLU Motion ZB into pairing mode. The LED starts flashing in blue for one minute.
  • Press 5 times quickly to activate Zigbee pairing. The LED starts flashing purple for one minute.
  • Press and hold for 30 sec to factory reset. The LED will flash in red for two seconds and the device will restart.
