Introducing the new Zennio ZennIoT device and ZenProg Remote

Zennio has released ZennIoT, a compact DIN rail device that brings programming, monitoring and remote control of a KNX installation together in one place. For integrators, that means less hardware in the board and a simpler way to stay connected to a project long after handover.
What ZennIoT brings together
ZennIoT combines several functions that would normally need separate devices:
- KNXnet/IP interface with up to 10 simultaneous tunnelling connections
- Remote control of the installation through Zennio Remote
- 10 built-in logic functions
- KNX Secure compatibility
- Compact 2-unit DIN rail format
With the IP interface built in, you can address, program and monitor the KNX TP devices straight from ETS over Ethernet. Having up to 10 connections at once comes in handy when more than one technician, or a visualisation, needs access to the bus at the same time.
Zennio Remote, ready to go
ZennIoT also works as the gateway for Zennio Remote, so end users can control their home from the iOS or Android app, or from a web browser.
Out of the box, it supports 100 controls spread across up to 12 customisable pages. For larger projects, an optional licence expands this to 240 controls. You can also add voice control with a separate ZenVoice licence.
Remote ETS programming with ZenProg Remote
ZennIoT is also compatible with ZenProg Remote, Zennio’s new service for programming KNX installations remotely.
The idea is simple: you connect from your own PC and ETS works as usual. Downloads, diagnostics and maintenance can all be done remotely, without taking over another computer on site or setting up a VPN.
A few details worth knowing:
- Access runs through a secure cloud connection on Zennio’s infrastructure
- Technical access has to be approved by the end user in the Zennio Remote app, and is granted for a time-limited maintenance window
- Projects can be organised in up to 4 hierarchical levels, including the project itself, which keeps large or multi-building sites easy to navigate
- Devices can be imported and exported via CSV
The service is based on data usage. You get 10 MB free when you create an account, enough for your first remote downloads, and you can add capacity through a licence when you need it.
ZenProg Remote works with ZennIoT on its own, or with a Z50, Z70 or Z100 (software version 4.1 or later) or RemoteBOX, combined with a KNX IP Interface or ALLinBOX.

Fewer site visits, faster support
For integrators looking after several installations, ZennIoT means fewer trips to site for small changes and a quicker response when a client needs help. One device covers the IP interface, user app and logic, and opens the door to remote programming whenever the project calls for it.
